To enter the market in one of the world’s top 5 beer drinking countries, Corona had to completely rethink how the industry was producing returnable crates.

In Germany, everyone buys beer in returnable crates. While they seem sustainable, the production of new ones still requires millions of tons of fresh plastic every year. As a net-zero plastic brand with a mission to protect the ocean, Corona couldn’t enter the crate market. And for years that’s what we did. At least until we could find a better sustainable solution.
